Gold Fish

Welcome to the Gold Room

The Gold Room is for school age children with special needs.  The Gold Room is a program for your child to attend before and/or after school, on days that school is not in session and during the summer months.  The Gold Room consists of one lead teacher with a ratio of 1 to 5.

NEEC follows the Constructivist Approach which allows for the children to construct their knowledge through exploration and play.  The Gold Room also follows the same approach, but may alter it’s environment by bringing material to the child to meet their specific needs.

The Gold Room teacher uses the child’s IEP to develop goals, and offers biannual parent/teacher conferences to each family.

If your child is attending the before school session, they will be in the Orange Room until they get on the bus.  We use a communication log to keep parent/teacher information between classrooms.  Each child will receive a daily note that is specific to each child.  If at any time you have questions regarding your child, please contact us via email, telephone, or writing and your concern/question will be addressed as soon as possible.
